I have been on the water since my youth. Started with sailing camps in the Netherlands, and from then on increasingly larger waters. As a teenager I crossed the channel to England in a 26ft sailing boat. Along the years I sailed to Scandinavia, Mediterranean, Madeira and Canary Islands. And in 2002 the ultimate trip round the Atlantic Ocean.
After completing my studies (Marketing Management and International Business), I turned my hobby into my career and started working in yacht brokerage. First as an employee and then started my own yacht brokerage in 2009. Since then I have sold, purchased or brokered hundreds of boats and I have learned the tricks of the trade.
Due to an increase in laws and regulations, I have noticed that many buyers underestimate purchasing a boat. It turns out to be more complex than expected, which sometimes reduces the fun or even causes financial setbacks.
At European Yacht Consult, our aim is to provide our client with professional and independent advice when purchasing a motor or sailing boat so that the buyer can fully enjoy the boat, even in the long term.
